POSITIONING & DRAPING: Assisting the patient into the left lateral Sims position with the right knee flexed, ensuring adequate draping for clinical access and personal privacy.

ASEPTIC SOLUTION PREPARATION & LUBRICATION: Warm formulation or priming of the prescribed enema solution (cleansing, retention, or pre-packaged micro-enema) and liberal lubrication of the rectal tip with water-soluble gel.

CONTROLLED ADMINISTRATION: Gentle insertion of the rectal nozzle following anatomical rectal curves, followed by slow, gravity-fed instillation to minimize bowel cramping.

RETENTION GUIDANCE & EVACUATION SUPPORT: Coaching the patient on breathing techniques to comfortably retain the solution, followed by assisted transfer to the commode or clean bedpan support and perineal hygiene.
