BALLOON INFLATION & ANCHORAGE: Accurate balloon inflation using sterile water (10 mL standard) verified only after spontaneous urine return is observed, followed by gentle retraction to seat the retention balloon securely against the bladder neck.

CLOSED DRAINAGE SYSTEM ATTACHMENT: Connection to a sterile, anti-reflux urinary drainage bag and secure fixation of the catheter tubing to the patient's upper thigh to eliminate tension and urethral trauma.

DRAINAGE MONITORING & CAREGIVER EDUCATION: Immediate measurement of urine output, color, and clarity, accompanied by thorough caregiver education on maintaining gravity drainage, bag positioning below bladder level, and hygiene routines.
